 Pink translucent irregular large crystals. There are two types of crystals, the α-type is relatively stable and belongs to the monoclinic columnar crystal; the β-type is unstable and belongs to the monoclinic plate-like crystal. Relative density 2.01g/cm3. Melting point 650 ºC. Boiling point 1190 ºC. There is water absorption, easy deliquescence Chemicalbook. at 106°C. When it loses a molecule of crystal water, at 200 ºC, it loses all crystal water and becomes anhydrous. When the anhydrous is heated in the air, it decomposes and releases HCl to generate Mn3O4. It is easily soluble in water at room temperature and easily soluble in hot water. Soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether.
